Not to sure if this is relevant to your vehicle being mine is a early mk1 discovery but i found a grommet missing halfway up the a pillar behind the front wing, any water running down the pillar could find itself inside the a pillar and leak inside the car, especially in my case as the drain at the bottom of the pillar was blocked, On my d2 it had dried out and was leaking on both sides He replaced the plastic rivets with reusable retainers from autozone, and used 2 screws in the front to replace the 3 broken clips
